Dustin Lee Martin

Dustin Lee Martin, born in Billings, Montana, on December 30, 1987, left us on September 6, 2023, but his legacy will forever remain in our hearts. He was a remarkable soul whose journey touched the lives of many.
Dustin was a graduate of Whitefish High School in 2006, where he already exhibited a spirit of dedication and honor. He joined the United States Marine Delayed Entry Program in August 2005, and upon his high school graduation, he embraced active duty in the Marine Corps.
Dustin's path led him to Twentynine Palms, California, where he served as an Infantry Rifleman. His unwavering commitment led him to serve two combat tours in Iraq in, 2008 and 2009, earning several Medals and Accommodations for his bravery. He was Honorably discharged in 2010 but continued to serve in the Marine Corps reserves and later the Army reserves until 2013, demonstrating his unwavering dedication to his country. During his time in the reserves, he furthered his education at Flathead Community College.
In the subsequent years, Dustin embarked on a new journey, becoming a Licensed and Certified professional Pyrotechnician. He brought joy and excitement to countless communities in Northwest Montana through his spectacular firework displays, all while balancing a career as a licensed Bail Bondsman.
Dustin's heritage was deeply rooted in his enrollment as a Sioux member of the Ft. Peck Assiniboine and Sioux Tribes in Poplar, Montana. He cherished his cultural connections and took pride in his heritage. His involvement in the Kalispell VFW POST 2252 was a testament to his sense of community and camaraderie. Dustin was not just a member; he was a part-time employee who found solace and friendship among its ranks.
Those who knew Dustin were familiar with his infectious "goofy smiles and " He had an unshakeable concern for the well-being of his friends, family, and anyone facing difficulties. He was a beacon of support, offering a helping hand and a compassionate heart to those in need.
Dustin is preceded in death by his Grandfathers Hamid Lee Martin and Harry Charbonneau, Grandmother Janet Ann Martin, and Aunt Gail Dupree. He leaves behind a loving family: Father Timothy (Heidi) Martin, Mother Darci Charbonneau Martin, Brothers Derek Martin, Kody Stiller, and Trevor Shannon, Sisters Alicia Martin, Brianne Adams, Jessica Stiller, and Justean Browitt, along with several Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nephews, and Nieces.
Dustin’s memory will live on in the stories and memories we share. His selflessness, courage, and boundless love for others have left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know him. We mourn his loss but celebrate the incredible life he led and the positive impact he had on us all. Dustin will forever be in our hearts, smiling down on us with his eternal "goofy smiles and smirks.11
