Gone...But not forgotten...

Harold ‘Hunk’ Freese

January 10, 1921 - Sept. 29, 2015

Harold “Hunk” Freese, 94, of Kalispell passed away Sept. 29, 2015, in Kalispell after a short illness. He enjoyed the outdoors including riding four-wheelers, horses and snowmobiling, hunting and fishing. Hunk also enjoyed camping with his family.

He served with the Army Air Force in World War II as a crew chief (E-6)in C-47s flying the “Burma Hump” and was discharged in 1945. He was a 60-year member of the Iron Workers Union, life member of the VFW, as well as a Moose club member. Hunk was preceded in death by his wife Phyllis, oldest son Gary, and brother Myron “Frosty” Freese.

Hunk is survived by his son, Chris and Bev of Troy, son Mickey and Janet of Kalispell, and daughter-in-law Patty of Alberton; 10 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

There will be an urn side service 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, at Glacier Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kalispell. Military honors to be provided by the United Veterans of Flathead Valley. A celebration of life will be held following the urnside service 2 p.m. at the VFW Post 2252 in Kalispell.
